The short version

  • By using DualFrame, you agree to these terms.
  • The App is provided as-is. Use it responsibly and legally.
  • You own the videos you record. We claim no rights to your content.
  • Do not use the App to record people without their consent where required by law.
  • DualFrame offers a Free tier and optional DualFrame Pro subscriptions billed through Apple's App Store.
  • DualFrame is not liable for data loss or hardware issues — back up your work.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using DualFrame (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of DualFrame (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms apply to all users of the App.

2. Description of the App

DualFrame is an iPhone video recording application that captures simultaneous portrait (9:16) and landscape (16:9) video files using your device's camera(s). The App saves output files directly to your iOS Photos library.

DualFrame is offered as a free download with optional DualFrame Pro features:

  • Some features are free to use without a subscription.
  • Some advanced capture features require an active DualFrame Pro entitlement.
  • Available features may depend on active entitlement status, device capability, iOS runtime support, available storage, and thermal conditions.
  • Subscription products and prices may vary by country or region and are shown in the App Store purchase sheet.

Key technical limitations include:

  • Dual-lens recording is available only on iPhones and camera pairings that Apple's system identifies as MultiCam-compatible at runtime.
  • Available recording resolutions, frame rates, color profiles, and capture modes depend on device hardware and iOS runtime support, and may be dynamically adjusted during recording based on thermal and system conditions.
  • The App requires iOS 16 or later. Single-lens mode is available as a fallback on supported iPhones.

3. Free Tier and Pro Features

DualFrame includes a Free tier and optional DualFrame Pro access. Free features and Pro features may change over time. Pro features may include advanced capture options such as dual-lens recording, higher resolutions or frame rates, Time-Lapse, Apple Log, higher bitrate presets, and manual camera controls, subject to device and iOS runtime support.

DualFrame does not guarantee that a specific feature, camera combination, resolution, frame rate, color profile, or capture mode will be available on every device.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, Renewal, and Cancellation

DualFrame Pro may be offered as an auto-renewable subscription. Subscription options, durations, prices, trials, offers, and availability may vary by country or region and are shown before purchase in the App Store purchase sheet.

If you purchase a subscription, payment will be charged to your Apple ID through the App Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled according to Apple's subscription rules. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings or the App Store subscription management interface.

Price changes.Subscription pricing may change. Price changes for existing subscribers are handled through Apple's App Store subscription system, including any required notices or consent flows.

5. Restore Purchases and Entitlement Status

DualFrame uses RevenueCat and Apple StoreKit to check purchase, subscription, restore, and entitlement status. The App may need to contact these services to load subscription options, confirm active Pro access, restore purchases, or update entitlement state.

Access to Pro features may change if a subscription expires, is canceled, fails to renew, is refunded, or cannot be verified. If Pro access changes during an active recording session, the App may allow the current session to finish and apply access changes afterward where technically possible.

6. Legacy Paid-App Access

Users who purchased DualFrame before the free-with-subscription release may be eligible for Legacy Pro access. Legacy Pro is not an auto-renewable subscription and does not renew. Eligibility is determined by verified App Store transaction information and the App's cutover rules. If eligibility cannot be verified, Pro access may not be available until the App Store transaction can be restored or verified.

7. Refunds

Payments and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not process payment card information and cannot directly issue App Store refunds. Refund requests are subject to Apple's policies and processes.

8. License to Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use DualFrame on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for personal or lawful business use, as permitted by Apple's App Store terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its source code.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App.
  • Use the App to build a competing product or service.
  • Sublicense or transfer your rights under this license to any third party.

9. Your Content and Ownership

9.1 Ownership of recordings

You retain full ownership of all video and audio content you record using DualFrame. The Developer claims no intellectual property rights over your recordings. Purchasing or subscribing to DualFrame Pro does not transfer ownership of your recordings to us.

9.2 Responsibility for your content

You are solely responsible for the content you record, store, and share using the App. You represent and warrant that:

  • You have the right and authority to record the content you capture.
  • Your recordings do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
  • Your use of the App and your recordings comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.

9.3 Recording consent

Important: Recording other people without their consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction. It is your sole responsibility to obtain any required consent before recording. The Developer assumes no liability for recordings made without proper consent.

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.
  • Conduct unlawful surveillance or covert recording, or record people without consent where consent is legally required.

11. Device Permissions and Network Access

DualFrame requires access to the following device capabilities to function:

Camera — Required for video recording. Granting camera access confirms your consent for the App to use your device camera during active recording sessions.
Microphone — Required for audio recording. Granting microphone access confirms your consent for the App to capture audio during recording sessions.
Photo Library — Required to save completed recordings to your Photos library. The App does not read your existing photos or videos.

These permissions are managed through iOS Settings and can be revoked at any time. Some subscription-related features require network access to Apple and RevenueCat services to load products, process purchases, restore purchases, and verify entitlement status.

12. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

12.1 “As is” provision

DualFrame is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12.2 No warranty of uninterrupted operation

We do not warrant that the App will operate without interruption, be error-free, or meet your specific requirements. Recording capabilities depend on your device hardware and iOS system conditions, which may change during operation. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to Pro features if App Store, RevenueCat, network, billing, or entitlement verification services are unavailable.

12.3 Data loss

Important: The Developer is not responsible for any loss of video recordings, audio, or other data resulting from App crashes, device failures, storage issues, or any other cause. Always maintain backups of important recordings.

12.4 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business, arising out of or relating to your use of the App, even if the Developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12.5 Compatibility

Dual-lens recording functionality depends on Apple's runtime capability APIs. The Developer makes no guarantee that any specific camera combination, resolution, or frame rate will be available on any particular device. Available modes are determined at runtime by the iOS operating system.

13. Intellectual Property

DualFrame and its entire contents, features, functionality, design, code, and user interface are owned by the Developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you any rights to use the DualFrame name, logo, or any other trademarks, service marks, or trade names owned by the Developer.

14. Apple App Store Requirements

DualFrame is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service, which are incorporated herein by reference. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's Terms of Service, Apple's Terms of Service shall take precedence with respect to App Store-related matters.

As required by Apple:

  • These Terms are between you and the Developer only, not with Apple, Inc.
  • Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and use thereof.
  • In the event of any failure of the App to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. Updates and Changes

15.1 App updates

The Developer may release updates to DualFrame from time to time. These updates may add, modify, or remove features, including features available in the Free tier or DualFrame Pro. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of any changes introduced by that update.

15.2 Terms updates

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Termination

Your right to use DualFrame under these Terms terminates automatically if you fail to comply with any provision herein. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete it from your devices. Termination does not entitle you to a refund for any active subscription, which remains subject to Apple's App Store policies.

The Developer reserves the right to discontinue the App at any time without notice.

17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
